T TYPEBOUND
YOUR DATA

Privacy notice

Typebound is designed to keep reading progress and personal books private while giving you clear control over the data you save.

What Typebound collects

If you create an account, Typebound receives an account identifier and, depending on your sign-in choice, an email address, phone number, or Google profile name. The service stores the profile and settings you choose, reading progress, journal entries, annotations, saved words, companion progress, friend relationships, safety reports, and personal books you upload.

Typebound also processes limited technical information needed to secure and operate the service, such as IP-derived rate-limit identifiers, browser information, request times, errors, and security events. Rate-limit identifiers are hashed and expire automatically.

Where data is stored

Reader records are stored in Cloudflare D1. Profile and personal-library backups and original uploads are stored in Cloudflare R2. Some preferences and reading drafts are also kept in your browser. Authentication is provided by Supabase when account sign-in is enabled.

Services Typebound uses

How data is used

Data is used to provide and synchronize Typebound, restore personal libraries, operate optional social features, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and improve reliability. Typebound does not sell personal information or use personal books, journals, or notes for advertising.

Sharing and visibility

Your email, phone number, journal, annotations, saved words, and uploaded books are not shared with other readers. If you turn on discovery, other readers may see the reader name, avatar, companion, current book, progress summary, and leaderboard values that the profile screen identifies as social. Accepted friends can see the reading-circle details shown in the app. Blocking removes both readers from one another’s social views.

Retention and deletion

Account data is kept while your Typebound account is active. You can download a copy from the account menu. “Delete Typebound data” removes your Typebound profile and related D1 records, uploaded books, originals, and R2 backups. Your external authentication identity may remain with Supabase until it is deleted through the authentication provider or with support assistance. Safety reports may be retained when reasonably necessary to address abuse or legal obligations.

Your choices

You can keep social discovery off, remove personal books, download your data, delete Typebound data, clear browser storage, or ask for access, correction, or deletion by emailing privacy@typebound.app. Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply.

Children

Typebound is not directed to children under 13, and it should not be used by anyone who cannot legally consent to the handling described here without a parent or guardian.
